The Walnut Coffee Table
Walnut. Who doesn’t love Walnut?
This was a mid-century modern inspired coffee table design. I wanted to make the legs myself, but the hairpin legs really bring this piece into the mcm vein. Simple, yet classic.
This table was made from Walnut cabinetry plywood. The divider between the drawer and open space helped immensely in the glue-up, considering the corners were all 45-degree miters without dominos or biscuits. I made the edge banding from Walnut lumber I had in the shop. I also used Walnut lumber for the drawer face. I purposely used a piece with sap wood for the drawer to add some character.
